Who we are

We are a learning agency on a quest to empower all humans to be seen – seen for who you are and for all you can become. Because when you express yourself freely, you get to be truly seen. And when you are truly seen by others, you connect more meaningfully with them. This meaningful human connection leads to better collaboration, which ultimately leads to individuals, teams and businesses making a brilliant and positive contribution to the world.

Our beliefs

The story of The Be Seen Project starts with Chrissie, our founder – and her childhood experiences of questioning and unearthing her true self.

Chrissie remembers a strong need to fit in as a child. She was often comparing herself to others, worrying about being different and wanting to please those around her. Am I good enough? She wondered. Being one of five kids and a twin (known as one half of ‘The Twins’), it felt hard for Chrissie to be seen for who she really was. She often felt unsure of who she was – of her identity.

Yet there were moments of true clarity for Chrissie: racing down the hill on her mountain bike (woohoo!), playing the drums (louder than the neighbours liked!), and scoring for the all-girls’ football team (GOAL!). These were moments of real excitement and aliveness – moments of truly feeling herself. They were the early glimmers of Chrissie being Chrissie.

It was the questioning and unearthing of her own identity that really made Chrissie curious about other people and their identities: their feelings, their needs, their passions. She carried this curiosity into adulthood, choosing to study sociology and social psychology, and then moving rapidly into the world of learning and development. Chrissie soon realised that her childhood thoughts were in fact experienced by many – both in childhood and adulthood, in schools and in business. And so began Chrissie’s lifelong passion to help all humans, whatever their age or circumstance, to unearth and learn to be themselves: to help them all be seen.

Chrissie can be seen today as an award-winning learning expert, more comfortable than ever with who she is – and proud of the contribution she and The Be Seen Project make to the lives of others.

These values are fully lived by The Be Seen Project, and embodied in everything we do for and with our clients. We believe societies, businesses, schools and humans experiencing these values will help create a world where we can all be ourselves – and all be seen.
